Scholarships

The Association shall promote post-secondary education through a Scholarship Program in the various fields of study which make up the broad category of school plant management, with specific skills relating to maintenance, custodial and operation of physical plant. The program shall be available to high school or GED graduates and School District/Vendor Partner employees desiring to further their skills.

            • The Deadline for applying for Association Scholarships is April 15th
            • The Scholarships shall be awarded by the end of May
            • Awardee’s will be invited to attend the Annual Association Business Meeting by the Executive Director.

The Association shall have two types of Scholarships available exclusively to Individual Members and District Membership.

Type 1 (S.A.1)- is for the graduating student enrolling in a two-year program at a post-secondary institution. A scholarship may be awarded for two successive years in the amount of $1,500 per year, maximum total scholarship amount of $3,000 over two years. Successful completion of classes is required for continuation of this scholarship from one semester to the next semester. This scholarship will be offered only to Kentucky residents. The scholarship funds for the winning recipients will be provided to the post-secondary institution upon notification of enrollment and/or continued semester success.

Type 2 (S.A.D.E.1)- is for the Kentucky School District employee desiring to enroll for a class or classes through a post-secondary institution or trade school. A scholarship may be awarded for up to two years of classes over a two successive year period, with no scholarship payment per year exceeding $1,500, maximum total scholarship amount of $3,000 over two years. Successful completion of each class is required for continuation of this scholarship from one semester or class to the next semester or class and be in a trade area related to school plant operations. The scholarship funds for the winning recipient will be provided directly to the post-secondary institution or trade school upon notification of enrollment and/or continued semester success and shall not exceed $1,500.00 or the sum of the class tuition and any books, class or material kit fees, should it not exceed $1,500.00 per year.

This scholarship will be offered only to Vendor Partners and their employees’ immediate family. The scholarship funds for the winning recipients will be provided to the post-secondary institution upon notification of enrollment and/or continued semester success.

Type 2 (V.P.2)- is for the Vendor Partner employee desiring to enroll for a class or classes through a post-secondary institution or trade school. A scholarship may be awarded for up to two years of classes over a two successive year period, with no scholarship payment per year exceeding $1,500, maximum total scholarship amount of $3,000 over two years. Successful completion of each class is required for continuation of this scholarship from one semester or class to the next semester or class and be in a trade area related to school plant operations. This scholarship will be offered only to Vendor Partners employees. The scholarship funds for the winning recipient will be provided directly to the post-secondary institution or trade school upon notification of enrollment and/or continued semester success and shall not exceed $1,500.00 or the sum of the class tuition and any books, class or material kit fees, should it not exceed $1,500.00 per year.

Renewal of Scholarships:

 Applicants seeking to renew their scholarships by filling out the Scholarship Renewal form before May 15th.
