News For Vendor Partners 2021

New Membership Program for Vendor Partners

EDO Office-  On December 3rd, 2020 the Kentucky School Plant Management enacted the Vendor Partnership Membership Program, which went into effect on January 1st, 2021.  This program finally brings our vendor partners into the Association as a member of the organization.  In past years, this was a grey area and to be honest we really didn't give members very many benefits for being a member of the Association.  Under the new membership program:

Vendors Get a Voice in the Vendor Representative Elections to the Board of Directors starting in 2021

The KSPMA Membership and Board of Directors have officially turned over the power to the Vendor Partners that are members of the Association to run and elect their vendor representatives onto the Associations Board of Directors.  As outlined in the Associations Policy and Procedure manual, the vendors can vote for whom is going to represent them on the Associations Board of Directors starting in October 2021 at the Associations Annual Business Meeting.  Only Vendor Partners that are members can apply and run for Office.  Only Vendor Partners that are members in good standing with the Association can vote on those that are running for office. We have one position that is opening in October of 2021.  The Board of Directors and the General Membership are not voting on whom gets elected to serve as the Vendor Representative for the 2021-2023 year.

Vendor Scholarships for Family and Staff Members

For the first time in our Associations history, the Association is offering scholarships for Vendor Partners that are members of the Association in good standing for the following:

Any employee (and/or their immediate family) of a Vendor Partner Member can apply for the following scholarships:

VMSA-1-  Available to any high school graduate who is seeking a degree in a facility related field.  This includes:  Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, mechanical, etc.  The Association is currently offering only 2 scholarships available in this category for the 2021 year.
